ABOUT US

The branch was formed in 1996 when the Rhondda, Cynon and Taff Borough Councils and part of Mid Glamorgan County Council, merged to create Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council.

With all the councils above having GMB Branches covering them, they were all merged to create the R45 Rhondda Cynon Taff branch.  This branch became the biggest branch within the South Western Region representing 3,500 members.  The branch also covers companies that work with the council including:

• Trivallis
• South Wales Fire Service
• Amgen Cymru
• Solo Cleaning 
   

  • How is the Branch run and how can I get involved?

    The branch is run by its members for its members.  The Branch Secretary is responsible of the every day running of the branch, with the executive committee chaired by the Branch President and including all branch officers, recommends dissensions and changes to the branch membership to vote on at branch meetings.  The member has a chance to get his/her voice heard at these meetings.
